What I Ate Wednesday – Featuring Goat Whey Protein & Lots of Sweet Potato
EatWell Coach Shannon here sharing with you everything I ate in one day! “What I Ate Wednesday” is a regular feature now on the 202 Strong Blog this summer to give everyone plenty of real life examples of what an anti-inflammatory, whole foods diet looks like in action. My diet consists mainly of vegetables (both starchy and non-starchy), protein, and healthy fats. Sometimes I eat fruit. Sometimes I eat paleo “treats”. Sometimes I eat gluten-free grains like rice and oatmeal. Sometimes I drink alcohol (although typically not on Wednesdays ???? ).
Without further adieu, here’s what I ate in a day:
Breakfast: Smoothie consisting of: Two scoops Tera’s Honey Vanilla Goat Whey protein powder + 1/4 Frozen Banana + 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Bean Ghee + 1/2 Cup Steamed Kale + 1 Raw Pastured Egg + 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk + 1 Tablespoon Cacao Powder + 1 Teaspoon Maca Powder + 1 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder + Ice. If I had MCT oil I would’ve added 1 Teaspoon of that as well for some extra BRAIN FOOD.
Snack(s): Sesame BBQ Chicken EPIC Bar (my latest FAVORITE flavor!) Also had two squares of 90% dark chocolate (eaten before I could snap a picture, oops!)
Lunch (2-3 hours before my workout): Salad with Zucchini Noodles, Romaine Lettuce, Red Cabbage, Sweet Potato, Avocado Oil, and Chicken Breast.
